What we offer
Shape, size, colour and print options for every windshield order
A shape for every mic
We offer a range of spherical, 3-sided and 4-sided windshields in a variety of sizes to suit all types of microphones, smartphones and voice recorders.
15mm — 500mm+
We supply windshields for any size microphone, from miniature lavalier up to large boom microphones — ranging from 15mm to 250mm in diameter and 20mm to over 500mm in length. We've also supplied 300 custom shape plain foam windshields to Parliament House Canberra. If your microphone isn't covered above or in the sizing guide, we can custom design a windshield.
Plain or flocked finish
Plain foam is the most affordable option, best for in-studio use or where surrounding sound is limited. Recommended for hot and humid conditions. Available in black, red, blue, green, yellow, purple.
Flocked finish is more commonly supplied, as it helps cut down surrounding sound and can be matched to your corporate or chosen PMS colour, including two-colour or graduated colour designs.
Spot colour or full-colour
We've developed printing techniques that create spot-colour prints, full-colour digital photos for complex logos, or a combination of the two. The sharpest results come from logos supplied in solid colours with PMS colour numbers provided.
Caring for your windshield
Decorated windscreens are valuable pieces of equipment which are used to suppress wind and “pop” noises.
Usage: The windscreens must be handled carefully. Each windscreen is made for a particular type of microphone and should only be used with the style and model for which it was supplied. If you use a windscreen on a larger microphone it will damage the shape and logo.
Avoid getting the windshields wet as this compromises the bond between the foam moulding, the flock covering and the logo. Should this happen, Mic Logo Branding is not liable for a refund or replacement.
Logos are cut from a suede-cloth like material and adhered with heat to the flock. Graphics that provide a bigger surface for the bond are best. Graphics with fine type, fine lines or sharp peaks should be handled with consideration of the bond.
Storage: Humidity can undermine durability of the logos. Never store a wet or hot windscreen in an airtight plastic bag or closed case. If it does get wet allow the windscreen to dry completely in free air. Similarly, allow to cool down in free air if it has become heated by studio lighting or some environmental source.
If ordering a bulk quantity, remove windshields from their individual plastic bags as soon as possible for exposure to the air.
Cleaning: It is not recommended to use any cleaning agents as this may damage the logo/windshield surface or affect the logo to windshield bond. Do not use anti-bacterial sprays as they penetrate the flocking and clog the cells of the foam.
